As part of a unique „book residency project“ between documenta 14’s aneducation and the C& Center of unfinished Business two libraries get in conversation with each other:

The collection of books of the C& Center, presented at the if a Galerie in Berlin focussing on aspects of colonial legacies and contemporary societies. Whereas the library presented at Peppermint in Kassel is that of the Swiss couple Lucius and Annemarie Burckhardt (1925–2003 and 1930–2012), two unconventional thinkers affiliated with the University of Kassel, whose practice has substantially influenced the development of documenta 14. As described by Walter Benjamin in his essay “Unpacking my Library,” the process opens up the work and influence of the collectors as well as their own relationship to the book collection.

The exchange between C& and documenta 14 aneducation results in a loan of carefully selected books from each library presented at Peppermint in Kassel and at the ifa Galerie in Berlin.

Have a look at a selection of books from the C& Center’s collection presented at the Peppermint in Kassel.
