The collection of books of the C& Center, presented at the if a Galerie in Berlin focussing on aspects of colonial legacies and contemporary societies. Whereas the library presented at Peppermint in Kassel is that of the Swiss couple Lucius and Annemarie Burckhardt (1925–2003 and 1930–2012), two unconventional thinkers affiliated with the University of Kassel, whose practice has substantially influenced the development of documenta 14. As described by Walter Benjamin in his essay “Unpacking my Library,” the process opens up the work and influence of the collectors as well as their own relationship to the book collection.
