SABAA | kukutana Art Award 2023

17 October 2025
kukutana / SABAA in 2023 will be awarding contemporary sub-Saharan African artists with 1.000€ each in the categories of painting, photography, illustration. The award is given every two years. This time the topical field is: #ChangingClimate #Nature.
In your art-work, SABAA | kukutana (among other things) is interested in: to know, to artistically discuss, to find something on the topic / of your view on / of your experience with todays nature and climate-changes.
Every two years SABAA | kukutana confers an art award to artistically reflect upon the special and individual experiences, ideas, images, and artistic positions of artists from Sub-Saharan African countries on urgent issues of our time and place. In order to frame and reframe, showcase, inform, evaluate, sustain, facilitate, inspire. And to propose African artistic positions & hints for handling our todays reality: LEARNING FROM AFRICA.
