Veronica Ryan: objetos revoltosos

Pulitzer Arts Foundation presenta más de cien esculturas, tejidos, obras en papel y objetos hechos por Veronica Ryan, poniendo el foco en la preocupación de la artista por el significado personal y cultural que encarnan los objetos cotidianos.

Con curaduría de Tamara H. Schenkenberg y asistencia curatorial de Molly Moog, la exhibición Veronica Ryan: Unruly Objects (Veronica Ryan: objetos revoltosos) explora temas como la transformación, la memoria y el cuidado a través de materiales usados de manera poética.

La exhibición abarca varias décadas de carrera artística de Ryan y evidencia su compromiso con formas orgánicas como semillas, vainas y frutas, símbolos de crecimiento, migración y renovación. A menudo sus obras combinan elementos hechos a mano, elementos encontrados y elementos naturales, que animan a los espectadores a reflexionar sobre el significado personal y cultural que encarnan los objetos cotidianos. A lo largo de la muestra, Ryan reinventa materiales familiares –por ejemplo, plomo, tejidos, botellas de plástico, vaciados en bronce y envolturas de alimentos– para crear esculturas que evocan temas como la curación, el desplazamiento y la continuidad.
