Coco Fusco: Tomorrow, I Will Become an Island

Una retrospectiva de la artista cubano-estadounidense describe la influencia de su trabajo en el arte contemporáneo.
Con la cocuraduría de Anna Gritz y Léon Kruijswijk y la asistencia curatorial de Linda Franken, Tomorrow, I Will Become an Island (Mañana me volveré una isla) presenta el trabajo de más de treinta años de la artista cubano-estadounidense Coco Fusco, a través de videos, fotografías, textos, instalaciones y performances.
Teniendo como base discursos poscoloniales y teorías psicoanalíticas, la artista reflexiona en su obra sobre dinámicas interculturales y sociales y el modo en que se construye el Otro. En esa línea, Fusco desarrolló proyectos artísticos sobre diversos temas, tales como las exposiciones etnográficas, la psicología animal, el turismo sexual en el Caribe, las condiciones de trabajo en zonas de libre comercio, los registros coloniales que suprimen luchas indígenas, y las técnicas de interrogatorio militar usadas en la guerra contra el terrorismo. Sus trabajos más recientes tienen como foco la relación entre la poesía y la política revolucionaria de Cuba.
Tomorrow, I Will Become an Island estuvo abierta entre el 14 de septiembre de 2023 y el 7 de enero de 2024 en el KW Institute de Berlín (Alemania).
