La 11ª edición de la Bienal de Artes Visuales del Mercosur echa una mirada al Triángulo Atlántico.

En su 11ª edición, la Bienal del Mercosur reúne en Porto Alegre obras de aproximadamente setenta artistas y colectivos tratando de echar una mirada a las interconexiones económicas y culturales entre África, América y Europa a través de la producción artística contemporánea. Entre los participantes se cuentan los africanos El Anatsui, Ibrahim Mahama y Mary Eavans, y los brasileros Arjan Martins y Dalton Paula. Con la curaduría de Alfons Hug y la curadoría adjunta de Paula Borghi, la muestra pone el foco en el arte africano y afrobrasilero pero también presenta culturas indígenas.

Además de ocupar lugares históricos del centro de la ciudad, hay exhibiciones en la iglesia Nossa Senhora das Dores, en la Praça da Alfândega y en dos quilombos, el Areal da Baronesa, de Porto Alegre, y la Casa 6, de Pelotas, donde los artistas Camila Soato y Jaime Lauriano hicieron residencias artísticas. La Bienal es de entrada gratuita y puede ser visitada hasta el 3 de junio de 2018.
