"Art in a Transnational World" - Okwui Enwezor, Rirkrit Tiravanija, and Melissa Chiu

Join Okwui Enwezor, internationally acclaimed curator of the upcoming Venice Biennale 2015, and Thai artist Rirkrit Tiravanija in conversation with Melissa Chiu, Asia Society Museum Director, on current issues in international contemporary art.
Okwui Enwezor, renowned international curator, has presided over numerous biennials including the Gwangju Biennale; dOCUMENTA 11, Kassel; and the Johannesburg Biennale. He is currently the director of the Haus der Kunst, Munich, and editor of Nka: Journal of Contemporary African Art. Enwezor was appointed curator of the Venice Biennale 2015, making him the first African-born curator in the exhibition's 100-year history.
Contemporary artist Rirkrit Tiravanija lives and works in New York, Berlin, and Chiang Mai. Architecture or structures for living and socializing are a core element in his work and his installations often take the form of a stage or room for sharing meals, cooking, reading, or playing music. In 2004, Tiravanija was awarded the Hugo Boss Prize.
Melissa Chiu, Museum Director and Senior Vice President of Global Arts and Cultural Programs for Asia Society in New York, is responsible for the exhibition program at Asia Society Museum, which has included groundbreaking presentations such as TOOBA: Shirin Neshat, Zhang Huan: Altered States, Art and China's Revolution, Yang Fudong: Seven Intellectuals in a Bamboo Forest, Yoshitomo Nara: Nobody's Fool, and Sarah Sze: Infinite Line.
