Kòrsou – Curaçao

The exhibition Kòrsou - Curaçao has been extended through November 20!

The Nationaal Archief contains archival documents, photos and maps mainly showing the perspective and world of the colonial rulers. The exhibition Kòrsou - Curaçao combines these archival documents with different views of the island. For example, a selection from the unique collection of audio recordings, the Zikinzá Collection, provides a glimpse into the daily lives of Curaçaoans of the past.

Curaçaoans also speak about the subjects covered in the exhibition. The show features interviews and photographs made by Curaçao photographer, documentary filmmaker and culturist Selwyn de Wind. In addition, the works of ten artists and performers present their view on enslavement, resilience, society and governance.

Guest curator Dyonna Benett curated the exhibition in close collaboration with advisors from both the Netherlands and Curaçao.
