BLVCK BLOCK Online Residency

In the month of August BLVCK BLOCK will host a residency that will culminate into an auction for Heritage month in September. The point of the residency is to help young artists foster a practice and also get into the art market while also building up their archives.

Artists will be required to send a proposal to make 1-3 pieces for the auction. They will be given a budget of R1000 each. Once they are approved, they will need to send BLVCK BLOCK enough Instagram content for 3 days and also participate in an Instagram Live interview. The content can consist of the process in making the work, some of their inspirations and anything that the artists feel contributes to their practice.

To apply please email the following to blockblvck@gmail.com

  • 5-10 jpg images of their work (With labels)
  • An artist bio and artist statement
  • Proposed work for the residency period
