After it’s launch at Belo Horizonte in 2017 the largest exhibition of contemporary African comes to Rio. The exhibit, named ‘Ex Africa’, opens on Saturday, January 20th, at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB) in Rio and runs until March 26th.
The exhibition, curated by Alfons Hug, features 18 artists from eight different African countries and includes work by two Afro-Brazilian artists, Arjan Martins and Dalton Paula.
Ex África is composed of more than eighty works, including paintings, sculptures, installations, videos and performances, with a privileged space for photography across four themes: echos of history, bodies and portraits, urban drama, and musical explosions.
