Relocating Artists at Risk in Latin America

Relocating Artists at Risk in Latin America
The Martin Roth-Initiative (MRI) has just published the report, by author Laurence Cuny, Relocating Artists at Risk in Latin America. In response to rising threats to artistic freedom worldwide, artists are increasingly being included in temporary shelter and relocation programmes. This report maps existing support networks for artists in need of protection and analyses conditions for temporary relocation within Latin America. It provides an initial mapping of actors and a starting point for establishing more partnerships between the artistic and cultural sector, human rights organisations and the temporary relocation community.
You can download the report for free in English (full report and summary) or Spanish (full report and summary).
And for the Spanish-speaking community: Listen to the upcoming podcast episode of ¡El Arte no Calla! (by Artists at Risk Connection (ARC), PEN America), in which speakers from Latin America will share their perspectives on the topic. The episode will be released on 29 April 2021. An English transcript will also be available on ARC's website.
