"Timbuktu" by Abderrahmane Cissako

The Malian city of Timbuktu is taken over by jihadists who want the people to impose their rules. The Bedouin family of Kidane lives peacefully in a tent on the outskirts of the city until a dispute with the fishermen Amabou mixes up everything. Abderrahmane Sissako movingly encounters the rampant fundamentalism with a deeply human film poem.
Following the film there will be an open discussion with Prince Kum'a Ndumbe III. (to be confirmed).
