​International Online Juried Show “Us: What divides us and what unites us?”

Founded in 1976, Touchstone Gallery, Washington, DC is seeking entries for an international online juried show “Us: What divides us and what unites us?” scheduled to exhibit online September 11 – October 30, 2020.

The Jurors are:

–  Miranda Lash, Curator of Contemporary Art, Speed Art Museum, Louisville, KY
–  Karen E. Milbourne , PhD, Senior Curator, National Museum of African Art, Smithsonian, Washington, DC
–  Gabriel Ritter , PhD, Curator & Head of Contemporary Art, Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, MN

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists 18 years old and older.
All original visual media that is the artist’s own concept, design and work.

AWARDS
Three selected artworks will receive Juror’s Best in Show Prize of $300

ENTRY
Fees: $20 per entry/artwork.
Submit one image or link per artwork entered.
Artists can enter as many works as they wish.
File types accepted: .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .png.; ~100 dpi, 2000 pixels on the long side, maximum size 2MB.
Video files: submit Video URL.
Please title your files as: LastNameFirstName-ArtworkTitle. Example: SmithJohn-Untitled.

EXHIBITION SCHEDULE
Dates of exhibition: September 11 – October 31, 2020

Notifications of acceptance: September 1 (will be emailed and a list of accepted artworks will be published on Touchstone Gallery’s website at www.touchstonegallery.com

NOTIFICATION
All entrants will receive notification of acceptance via email by September 1 , 2020.

All accepted artworks will be published as an exhibit at Touchstone Gallery’s website and promoted via the gallery’s social media platforms.

ARTWORK
All original visual media that is the artist’s own concept, design and work, including and not limited to paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, installation, street art, video and digital work.

SALES
Touchstone Gallery will not process any sales of the artwork; all requests to purchase will be forwarded to the artist to follow up directly with the potential buyer.

COPYRIGHT
All submissions must be original work, entirely the work of the entrant, and free from any copyright infringement. No copies or likenesses of other artists’ work is permitted.

USE OF IMAGES
Images of accepted works may be used at the sole discretion of Touchstone Gallery for promotional purposes including, but not limited to, the press release, invitation, website and social media. In submitting work for consideration, all entrants give permission to Touchstone to use images of selected works for publicity, education, and reproduction in a catalog if one is produced. Images will include attribution whenever possible.

AGREEMENT
If selected by the juror(s), the artist’s submission of files to this call for entry shall constitute an agreement on the part of the artist to comply with the conditions set forth in this prospectus. The artist agrees that if any deviation from the conditions in the prospectus is discovered, Touchstone has the right to remove a selected piece from the exhibition and require the return of any award received by the artist. No work accepted for the exhibition may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition. Touchstone Gallery retains the right to reproduce an image of accepted artwork for publicity purposes online and in print.

TOUCHSTONE FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS (TFA) is a nonprofit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization created by the artists of Touchstone Gallery in order to increase their engagement with the community around them. The Foundation creates opportunities for young and emerging artists in our area to develop professionally and to exhibit at an established gallery and offers other programs to engage the wider community and non-traditional artists.
