The Main Exhibition of the 11th Berlin Biennale Opened on 5th September

Curated by María Berríos, Renata Cervetto, Lisette Lagnado, and Agustín Pérez Rubio the 11th edition slowly opened one year ago and is now unfolding from 5 September 2020 to 1 November 2020 its main exhibition.

Since September 2019, the 11th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art has been unfolding as a process through a series of lived experiences with exp. 1, exp. 2, and exp. 3. Now, in a fourth step conceived as an epilogue, the 11th Berlin Biennale will bring these experiences together with artistic participation from around the world.

The 11th Berlin Biennale’s epilogue The Crack Begins Within will open from 5 September to 1 November, 2020. In their diverse modes of articulating solidarity, vulnerability, and resistance, the contributions rise up to materialize the complicated beauty of life amidst the turbulent times we inhabit.

There are so many important and interesting artistic positions taking part in the 11th Berlin Biennale, but we would like to highlight the ones from Africa and the Global Diaspora. Find here a list of all artists and the venues where they exhibit their work:

Since there will be no opening event, the exhibition may be visited free of charge on Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, 2020. Both days already fully booked. Tickets are still available for all other exhibition days.
