ATOMIC JOY

12 Junho 2025

Closes: 5 June 2025

What can joy do in the face of the collapse of the world? How do you make joy a strength of resistance? With ATOMIC JOY, Ana Pi summons this regenerative emotion as a state of alertness, a miraculous weapon, a space of reinvention. Designed as a practical choreographic guide to joy, ATOMIC JOY brings together eight young performers from the street dances of Greater Paris. Inspired by the world of battles, Ana Pi imagines a space of listening, tension, disobedience, where the radicality of gestures becomes an act of affirmation. Its singular gestures and precise qualities of presence become the starting point of a living matter to be amplified in a movement of circulation and connection. Nourished by Afro-diaporic dances, heirs of deep struggles and transmissions, the choreographer draws on knowledge of the movement that connects memory and future, autonomy and common impetus, where each gesture connects the past to the desire of a collective future. At the rhythm of an original composition by the pianist {{B:Christophe Chassol}}, the piece gives shape to a vibrant dance, where tenderness, virtuosity and ferocity intertwine to affirm the power of a vast heritage in perpetual transformation: a joyous operation of re-enchantment of the real.

June 4 at 19h30 and June 5 at 20h30 at CN D, 1 rue Victor Hugo 93500 Pantin, France.
