Pascal Konan: Unfinished Symphony

In Unfinished Symphony, Pascal Konan unveils a deeply personal yet universally resonant exploration of resilience, transformation, and continuity. Drawing from his lived experiences in Abidjan’s vibrant yet precarious neighbourhoods, Konan employs a mixed technique, skillfully combining materials and tools to create dynamic, multi-layered compositions.

For him, each element he engages with is more than a medium; it is a voice from his environment that speaks, challenges and provokes reflection. Denim, a signature material in this series, interacts with bleach to produce a nuanced range of shades, from light to dark, meticulously adjusted to achieve the desired depth and texture.

Curated by Mpumi Mayisa, this solo exhibition explores the intersections of resilience, memory, and collective identity through the transformative lens of Konan’s practice.
