Actofel Ilovu: Onlooker

The Project Room Namibia and StArt Art Gallery present Actofel Ilovu’s latest solo exhibition Onlooker. This exhibition opens on 28 April 2023 at 6PM with a printmaking workshop hosted by the artist on 13 May from 8AM to 1PM. The exhibition runs until 20 May 2023. Entrance to the exhibition is free and all are welcome to attend the exhibition opening.

A master of many different techniques, from 3D installations to 2D smoke paintings, Actofel Ilovu’s latest exhibition is largely a showcase of a body of linoleum block prints. In Ilovu’s work the personal meets the political through the confluence of his materials and subject matter. Ilovu’s choice of materials is largely informed by his personal history, while his subject matter responds directly to his observation of contemporary Namibian society. These elements are brought together in his third solo exhibition titled Onlooker.
