Winning the C/O Berlin Talent Award – Theory means

• An interview with the winner in the category Artist
• Writing an essay about the winner’s project
• Publication of these texts in an individually designed publication on the exhibition
• Prize money of 3,000 EUR
• International presence and networking

Requirements

• Under 35 years old (exceptions may apply)
• Experience in writing about photography and digital image cultures with a focus on facial reading and facial recognition?
• Interest in exploring the topic from different historical and cultural contexts
• Familiarity with the overall theme of the C/O Berlin Talent Award: New Documentary Strategies

Conditions

• No application fees
• Sufficient time to write the required texts until fall 2025
• Agree to the publication of your texts in the publication of the C/O Berlin Talent Award 2025
• Willingness to have an artist talk with the winner during the exhibition period

Schedule

• Apr 24, 2025: Deadline
• Jun 2025: Announcement of winner
• Fall 2025: Submission of texts
• Jan 2026: Exhibition opening + release of the publication
